Pantone Colour of the Year 2017: Greenery
Although we’re at the end of 2017, it’s not too late to look at Pantone’s Colour of the Year – you can still use this through 2018 of course and in fact it is ideal for those summer colour schemes you are planning now.
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute says Greenery was chosen for 2017 because it “bursts forth” to offer reassurance that is needed in these turbulent times, when people are bombarded with social and political concerns. Greenery also symbolises reconnection, whether this is with other people, nature or a bigger purpose. It reflects the public’s desire for rejuvenation and revitalisation.
While the fresh yellow-green shade automatically makes us think of springtime, it’s also a great shade for late summer and early autumn, calling to mind summer picnics in lush parkland, or drinks in the garden while taking advantage of the last rays of sunlight. It’s a shade that Pantone describes as “life-affirming” and, as we head into the latter weeks of 2017, that seems to be just what we need.
So how to incorporate Greenery into your events?
